Late Of The Pier – Blueberry

It's a little odd to say that every once in a while a Indie band can get a little spiritual on your ass. Well Late of the Pier have done just that. Lately I have been going through what you could call a spiritual revolution of sorts myself, so I really relate to this song.

Late Of The Pier – Blueberry

Sunday morning comes
And I look out my window to the clouds
And through the rain
I feel the love that shines on eveyone around
Through the glow
Of all the ones I´ve known and sometimes grown to stay
There is one light
That will shine the world away

Explosions of warm air flow
Excite and invite my soul
To know that your love is where you live

On a cloud
In the sunshine
All around
You live
On a cloud
In the sunshine
All around

Through the falling leaves
All around the trees where the icy waters flow
Down the lanes we drive
When it´s late at night and there´s nowhere else to go
Till the morning comes
And the pale white sun draws near its final day
There is one light
That will shine the world away

Explosions of warm air flow
Excite and invite my soul
To know that your love is where you live

On a cloud
In the sunshine
All around
You live
On a cloud
In the sunshine
All around

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Redemption Song

Something that I always strive for, even if I fail sometimes, is to push myself to become a better person. I do believe that no one but ourselves can really hold us back when it comes to this part of life. No matter what has happened in our lives, no matter who has treated us poorly, no matter how far we have let our selves fall, I believe we can all find redemption.

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Redemption Song

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
This songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fullfil the book.

Won't you help to sing
This songs of freedom-
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fullfil the book.
Won't you have to sing
This songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs -
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.

Phoenix - If I ever feel better

Some songs just capture a certain moment in life perfectly. Today this Phoenix song has done that for me, in a much more graceful and interesting way than I ever could.

Phoenix - If I feel better

They say an end can be a start
Feels like I've been buried yet I'm still alive
It's like a bad day that never ends
I feel the chaos around me
A thing I don't try to deny
I'd better learn to accept that
There are things in my life that I can't control

They say love ain't nothing but a sore
I don't even know what love is
Too many tears have had to fall
Don't you know I'm so tired of it all
I have known terror dizzy spells
Finding out the secrets words won't tell
Whatever it is it can't be named
There's a part of my world that' s fading away

You know I don't want to be clever
To be brilliant or superior
True like ice, true like fire
Now I know that a breeze can blow me away
Now I know there's much more dignity
In defeat than in the brightest victory
I'm losing my balance on the tight rope
Tell me please, tell me please, tell me please...

If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know

Hang on to the good days
I can lean on my friends
They help me going through hard times
But I'm feeding the enemy
I'm in league with the foe
Blame me for what's happening
I can't try, I can't try, I can't try...

No one knows the hard times I went through
If happiness came I miss the call
The stormy days ain't over
I've tried and lost know I think that I pay the cost
Now I've watched all my castles fall
They were made of dust, after all
Someday all this mess will make me laugh
I can't ewait, I can't wait, I can't wait...

If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know
If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know

It's like somebody took my place
I ain't even playing my own game
The rules have changed well I didn't know
There are things in my life I can't control
I feel the chaos around me
A thing I don't try to deny
I'd better learn to accept that
There's a part of my life that will go away

Dark is the night, cold is the ground
In the circular solitude of my heart
As one who strives a hill to climb
I am sure I'll come through I don't know how
They say an end can be a start
Feels like I've been buried yet I'm still alive

I'm losing my balance on the tight rope
Tell me please, tell me please, tell me please...

If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know

If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know

If I ever feel better
Remind me to spend some good time with you
You can give me your number
When it's all over I'll let you know

Radiohead - Creep (Acoustic)

For the past ten years or so in my life I have never been really able to connect deeply with anyone, especially the women in my life. I have always felt like an outsider and observer. Didn't feel like the ideas in my head would relate to anyone else, I felt like that weirdo. But by doing this I missed out on alot that life has to offer, and hurt a lot of wonderful people along the way. This is my apology and explanation to them.

Radiohead - Creep (Acoustic)

When you were here before,
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel,
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so fuckin' special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts,
I wanna have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
when I'm not around
You're so fuckin' special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here, ohhhh, ohhhh

She's running out again
She's running out
She run run run run...
run... run...

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fuckin' special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't belong here...

Elliott Smith - Angel in the Snow

The bitter bite of addiction makes you feel less than you are, or that you are frozen in time. Even when you recognize the beauty around you, you can not reach out and accept it into your life. Elliot Smith understood this, and unfortunately never got to come out of it.

Elliott Smith - Angel in the Snow

I'd say you make a perfect
Angel in the snow
All crushed out on the way you are
Better stop before it goes too far
Don't you know that I love you?
Sometimes I feel like only a cold still life
That fell down here to lay beside you

Don't you know that I love you?
Sometimes I feel like only a cold still life
Only a frozen still life
That fell down here to lay beside you

Hot Chip - One Life Stand

I have been a fan of Hot Chip for a while now, from their days of party rock to this new more mellow, more mature album. I feel as though I have grown through these phases along with them, and find my self here, and now, with this song.

Hot Chip - One Life Stand

Tell me where you've been to
Nowhere that you shouldn't do
tell me what you're good for
I can tell you something too
Where have you been staying
tell me what you're playing
Hope its not my conscious
You will always be my baby

(Keep on feeling)
I only wanna be your one life stand
(Keep on feeling)
Tell me do you stand by your whole man
(repeat)

Wishes keep remaining
Nothing will contain it
A baloon where they're escapin'
Theres nothing but a play thing
Moments keep us guessing
And lead us from temptation
But better to embrace them
And measure our relation

(Keep on feeling)
I only wanna be your one life stand
(Keep on feeling )
Tell me do you stand by your whole man
(repeat)
